Recent Disturbances

Two things which reaffirmed my misanthropy this week:

• A television commercial for a "grown up" Dora toy. Formerly the Explorer, Dora apparently has eschewed her initiative for multicultural self study and adventuring, for the sublime challenges of modern mallrat fashion. ...and of course she's growing up sexy. Duh.
• Lucky, the Lucky Charms leprechaun, using the "I'll show you ____" joke. I think this signals the end of that joke's career, which gives it about five years until it appears in a Domino's Pizza commercial.
